In appreciation of our wonderful PublicStuff users reporting issues to their city and making their communities clean and safe, we want to thank all our power users by featuring their stories in our weekly blog posts. Each one of our featured power users have submitted a significant number of requests and took action to #GetStuffFixed.

Our first PublicStuff Power User is Carla from the City of Oceanside California.

PublicStuff: Tell me a little bit about yourself. What do you do for a living?

Carla: I manage the California Welcome Center in Oceanside. It’s a new job and I am enjoying learning the ropes and getting to know the many volunteers that make the service we offer possible. We serve about 100,000 visitors and residents with recreation, attraction and places to stay information per year.

PS: What are your hobbies?

Carla: Gardening, reading, and spending time with my Dad.

PS: What are your favorite things to do over the weekend?

Carla: Going out to breakfast on Sundays with my Dad and brother. We’ve been to over 70 different places. Plus errands, chores, events with friends, and gardening. Sometimes getting out to a local farmer’s market.

PS: Would you say you’re actively involved in your community, if so, how?

Carla: Just an activist with Public Stuff and a 10 year volunteer with the art festival called ArtSplash. http://www.carlsbadartsplash.org. I also try to make sure businesses follow proper U.S. flag code. There are so many violations out there! Maybe you can add that category somehow into Public Stuff.

PS: What do you like about PublicStuff?

Carla: It’s easy to use, it’s user friendly, and helps my City get the job done!

PS:  How did you first hear about PublicStuff?

Carla: I may have been referred to it by the City.

PS: How do you see yourself using PublicStuff long-term?

Carla: I am very observant and care about my neighborhood. I like to have street lights work, sidewalks safe, and our streets free of RV and trailer parking. I will never run out of things to send in.

PS: Got any funny jokes? If so, tell us.

What do cows do on Friday nights? They go to the MOOOvies.
